The government of Qatar announced on Saturday that it has suspended its role in mediating important talks aimed at establishing a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, in order to end the war in Gaza and to reconcile with the Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Qatar said that this action was taken due to the frustration caused by the lack of progress in the ceasefire agreement in Gaza also it will not return to the negotiating table until there is good faith in the talks with Hamas and Israel.
The small, wealthy Gulf nation has been working alongside the United States and Egypt for months, pushing for fruitless talks between the warring parties in Gaza.
This decision has already caused a lot of noise in Israel. On Saturday, thousands of Israelis protested in the city of Tel Aviv, who are worried about the situation of the hostages still in the hands of the Palestinian groups.
