Puntland naval forces in the past few hours, have seized an oil tanker that was seized off the coast of Bareeda town in the Ras-Aseyr region .
The forces said that the Ship had encountered problems and they had conducted an investigation.
A press release from the Puntland Police Command stated that after conducting investigations on the ship, it was discovered that it was not carrying out any illegal things , which was released to proceed.
The command said in the press “There are people who want to create pirates and send people to sea, so we must work together to prevent them”.
Also, the Police Command said that they will continue operations to ensure maritime security, preventing illegal weapons.
