The Puntland administration is today sending 15 Somaliland prisoners to Hargeisa, who were captured during the fighting in Lascaanood, the capital of Sool region.
Puntland’s move is in response to 11 prisoners from Puntland who were released by Somaliland yesterday, in exchange of the 15 prisoners which the plane returned to Somaliland.
These issues are a prelude to efforts to find a solution to the impact of the recent fighting in Las Anod, as the Somaliland and Puntland authorities refuse to establish a regional administration in SSC Khaatumo, which each faction believes should be subordinate to it.
