The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today officially presided over the handover ceremony between the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali Dhay, and the outgoing minister, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi.
The event took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Mogadishu, attended by government officials, diplomats, ministry staff, and other distinguished guests.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre thanked the outgoing Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi for his service and contributions during his tenure. He also encouraged the new minister to carry out his duties with integrity and commitment.

The new Minister, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali Dhay, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to work tirelessly in restoring and strengthening Somalia’s global relations.
“This is a heavy responsibility, but I am ready to implement effective strategies that will enhance Somalia’s foreign relations and improve our international presence,” said Minister Dhay.
