Kenyan President William Ruto said yesterday that some people are planning to overthrow his government after violent protests in recent times.
“They want to organize chaos, organize protest, burn people’s property, and kill Kenya to overthrow the government … before 2027,” said President Ruto.
On July 7, the 35th anniversary of Saba Saba’s democratic movement, at least 31 people were killed in protests making the number of deaths 59 recent protests.
Also the former Vice President Rigathi Gachagua, who was ousted by parliament last October, after clashes with Ruto, denied Ruto’s speech, and said “95% of Kenyans want to shame you in the election.”
