Kenya’s President William Ruto has appointed Prof. Kithure Kindiki became the Deputy president after the members of the Upper House removed Rigathi Gachagua.
Mr Kindiki was one of the most prominent members of this position after the parliament removed Gachagua.
Kithure, entered politics in 2013 after winning the Senate seat in his hometown of Tharaka-Nithi County and also he had a good political relation with the President.
Ruto had 14 days to appoint a new deputy after Gachagua’s dismissal, and parliament must now vote on this selection within 60 days.
