Las Anod, Somalia – May 4, 2025 – The leader of the SSC-Khaatumo regional administration, H.E. Abdulqadir Ahmed Aw-Cali, today held an important meeting with the Acting Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Somalia.
The meeting, which took place in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation, focused on strengthening bilateral relations between SSC-Khaatumo and Norway, with an emphasis on peacebuilding, stabilization efforts, humanitarian support, and development in the region.
President Abdulqadir briefed the Norwegian diplomat on the current political, security, and humanitarian situation in SSC-Khaatumo, especially in the wake of recent conflict-related displacements. He emphasized the need for international support in rebuilding governance institutions, enhancing access to basic services, and fostering reconciliation among communities.
The Acting Ambassador of Norway commended the leadership of SSC-Khaatumo for their efforts in maintaining stability and pledged Norway’s continued support for peace, dialogue, and development in the region.
This meeting marks a significant step in SSC-Khaatumo’s engagement with the international community and reflects growing interest in partnerships that promote stability and inclusive governance in northern Somalia.
