The parliamentarians of the two councils of Puntland in the federal government of Somalia last night met the president of the Puntland region, Saeed Abdullahi Saeed Deni at the the presidential palace.
The meeting was was attended by the Vice President of Puntland, Mr. Ilyas Osman Lugatoor and the Chairman of the House of Representatives, Abdirisaaq Ahmed Saeed and the parties exchanged information on the general situation of the country.
Reports say that Deni has personally met with the parliamentarians and senators and discussed issues related to the conflict between his administration and the federal government, which has reached its worst point, as the relationship between the two parties has deteriorated.
He also talked on election issues as there are ongoing plans by the central government to hold elections by people and votes.
Saeed Deni is strongly opposed to the government of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the prolonged tension between the federal government and the Puntland regional administration will end.
