The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today received the Secretary General of the IGAD Regional Organization, Workneh Gebeyehu at the Presidential Palace and discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Somalia and IGAD, regional stability and climate change.
President Hassan Sheikh shared with the Secretary Somalia’s achievements in security, the fight against terrorism, the economy and good governance, and stressed the importance of the region in protecting the independence and territorial integrity of the countries, in order to achieve regional development plans.
On his part, the Secretary General of the IGAD Regional Organization, Workneh Gebeyehu presented the general strategy of IGAD in the region, especially the maintenance of peace and development of the region.
