The new Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA),Mr Mahad Mohamed Salad officially took over from the previous Director, Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Sanbaloolshe, today.
Following a ceremony attended by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr Hassan Mohamud, who presided over the handover ceremony of outgoing NISA Director Abdullahi Sanbalolshe to the new Chief, Mahad Salad which took place at the NISA Headquarters.
The President commended Sanbalolshe for his service and dedication during his tenure and wished the new Director success in his role.
The President urged the new NISA Commander, Mr. mahadsalad, to continue counter-terrorism operations, strengthen cooperation between the Agency and other security agencies, and enhance the relationship between NISA and the Somali people, in order to prevent terrorist plots.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Internal Security, Mr. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, the Commander-in-Chief of the Somali Police, General Asad Abdullahi Osman, the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab,, , and officials from security agencies.
