The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has held a meeting with some of the leaders of Somali Civil Society Organizations.
The President of the Republic listened to the members who participated in the meeting about their views and suggestions related to the country’s situation, especially political issues, elections, reconciliation and security.
The President shared with the organizations a general report on the state of the country, especially the achievements made in the areas of public services, restoration of the status of our country in the international arena, economic development, the fight against terrorism and extensive preparations for the implementation of direct elections.
President Hassan Sheikh has also emphasized how the government he leads is committed to the fruition of the aspirations of the Somali people in relation to the holding of elections by person and voice, while calling on the various sectors of the society to play their role.
Members of the civil society praised the progress achieved in the international diplomatic arena and the elimination of Khawarij, promising that they will play a major role in public awareness and government building.
