Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud laid a wreath at the SYL monument in Mogadishu to commemorate the independence struggle of the Somali National Liberation Front (SYL).
The President congratulated Somali youth on the important occasion of May 15, praising their significant role in the development of the country and the struggle to eradicate Al Shabab.
While at the SYL Heroes Monument, the President paid tribute and prayed for the 13 youth who led the country’s independence, encouraging the Somali people everywhere to preserve their unity, solidarity, and statehood, which were the principles that formed the basis of the SYL struggle.
