Somali National Army and Jubbaland state forces, supported by Somalia’s international partners, have carried out airstrikes in the Maqooqaha area , located approximately 10km from the Jubbaland military base in Bulo-Haji, 90km northwest of the city of Kismayo.
At least 25 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in the airstrikes targeted Al-Shabaab bases after intelligence received indicating that Al-Shabaab members were planning ambushes targeting the Jubbaland military base in Bulo-Haji.
Military officials said the airstrikes killed senior Al-Shabaab figures in command of the group in the Lower Juba region.
