NISA killed 11 “AS” in planned operations in Middle Shabelle and Galgaduud.

The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) forces, in collaboration with international partners, have carried out planned operations in the past three days, killing up to 11 Al-Shabaab members, including a senior leader, and destroying military vehicles and equipment, in the Hiran, Middle Shabelle and Galgaduud regions.

The first operation, which took place on August 12, targeted a house in the Tardo area of Hiran region, where a meeting of leaders and members working with Al Shabab was taking place.Seven Al Shabab members were killed in the operation, and their meeting place was destroyed.

On August 13, another operation carried out in the Darul-Nimca area of Middle Shabelle region prevented militias planning an attack against the civil defense forces after receiving their information, and four members were killed, including leader Abdullahi Ganeey, who had played a major role in leading the Al-Shabaab group’s battles since 2009.

The third operation, which took place on August 14 in Nooleeye area of Galgaduud region, destroyed a vehicle that Al Shabab had overloaded with military equipment, which was being driven by militias who were planning to disrupt security in Ceeldheer district.

NISA forces succeeded in completely burning the vehicle and the equipment it was carrying, thus foiling the terrorist plot.
