Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who led the most populous country in Africa between 2015 and 2023, died in London, according to the presidential spokesman.
“ Former President Buhari died today in London, with a long-term illness,” said Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, in writing on his social site X
Buhari, 82, was also head of the Nigerian military command between January 1984 and August 1985, added the speaker.
