Mogadishu, May 6, 2025 – The National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting officially opened today in Mogadishu, chaired by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
This high-level meeting focuses on key national issues, including accelerating state-building efforts, national security, the electoral process, and strengthening cooperation between the federal government and member states.
Leaders from the federal government, federal member states, and the Banadir region are expected to engage in in-depth discussions on pressing national matters and issue a unified communiqué at the conclusion of the summit.
The meeting comes at a critical time for Somalia, as the country navigates complex political and security challenges that are central to its future stability.
