Earlier this morning a number of mortars were fired at the Halane camp and surrounding areas in Mogadishu, which is home to several international organizations and embassies.
The attack also affected nearby areas, with one of the mortars hitting some of the neighbouring areas.
Three mortar shells landed directly inside the Xalane camp, while one of the mortars landed inside the Korontada neighborhood.
The number of casualties from the attack is still unknown, although preliminary reports indicate that some civilians suffered minor injuries.
Somali government and AUSSOM security officials have not yet commented on the attack, and there has been no official statement regarding the actual casualties or who is behind the attack.
