At least 51 people are reported to have died in floods caused by heavy rains that fell for many hours, the strong floods caused the destruction of buildings, roads and bridges, and vehicles were seen being swept away by the water in the South East of Spain.
The city of Chiva was one of the areas most affected by the floods , while the city authorities said that they have sent drones to explore the places where people are isolated.
Rescue and search operations are still underway for the flood-affected people.
The King of Spain, Felipe VI, who published a statement on his website ‘X’, said that he was very sorry for the flood and sent his condolences to the families of the victims.
However, the country’s media reports that the damage caused by the floods is increasing.
