Mogadishu – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ambassador Abdullahi Ahmed Fiqi, officially launched a specialized media training session today at the Ministry’s Media Center. The three-day training aims to enhance the coordination and delivery of strategic communication related to national security and defense.
The training is attended by media personnel from the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF) and the Ministry of Defence and is being conducted by experienced media and security communication experts.
Key objectives of the training include:
• Unifying messaging in the fight against Al-Shabaab (Khawaarij)
• Building public trust in the security institutions
• Raising awareness to counter extremist ideologies
Minister Fiqi emphasized the importance of having a unified and professional media force capable of effectively communicating defense-related developments to the public. He noted that the Ministry’s media arm plays a critical role in garnering civilian support and highlighting achievements in the ongoing campaign against terrorist groups.
