The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ambassador Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, attended the opening ceremony of the Council of Ambassadors of the Arab League in Somalia, which was attended by the ambassadors of the Arab League in the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The purpose of this forum is to strengthen the relationship between the Arab countries and Somalia, to further enhance the cooperation between the countries and Somalia.
Minister of Fiqi thanked Ambassador Abdullahi Al-Qutibi, the head of representatives of the Arab League in Somalia, for his efforts in opening the council, which helps to strengthen the relationship between the Arab embassies in the country.
Also Ambassador Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, underlined the importance of the unity of the Arab League, its importance for Somalia and the latest decision taken by them against the greed of Ethiopia.
Lastly, Minister Fiqi praised the Arab countries for their bravery in standing by Somalia and protested against the abuses of Ethiopia.
Somalia has deep ties with the Arab countries, and is a member of the Arab League as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
