Kenyan doctors have threatened to strike due to withdrawal of Government agreement.

The Kenya Medical Association has issued a notice stating that they will strike for 21 days which will officially start on December 22 if the government does not implement the 2017 labor agreement.

Nearly 4,000 doctors working in Kenyan government hospitals went on strike on March 14 this year, complaining of the government’s reluctance to provide doctors with better working conditions and training. The strike was called off 56 days after their demand was granted on May 8.

Until now, the government has not implemented the agreement that led to the doctors returning to their jobs.

The health workers who are required to work for one year before they are given the right to work have complained about the pressure of work and the long hours they work without getting paid.
