Kenya kills two suspected ”AS” militant who were plotting a large-scale attack in the area.

According to a statement issued by the Kenyan counter-terrorism forces, based on intelligence carried targeted operation in Mandera around midnight last night killing two Al-Shabaab militants who were planning an attack.

The targeted militants are suspected to belonged to the Al Shabaab group, planning to cause harm to Somali civilians using the Alungu-Elwak road in Mandera.

The operation led to fierce clash which two Al-Shabaab militants were killed, while others were seriously injured before they fled into the nearby forests, with the troops went after them.

Also during the operation the forces seized two AK-47 rifles, an RPG rocket launcher, and an improvised explosive device (IED), which indicated that the operation prevented a large-scale attack that was planned to target civilian traffic in the area.
