Kenyan media reports that three people have been arrested after shoes were thrown at President William Ruto while he was speaking to a crowd.
In footage widely shared on social media, Ruto was seen speaking from the top of a vehicle during a tour in western Kenya when the shoes were thrown at him.
“We have said we are reducing the price of fertilizer, true or false?” he said as the shoe bounced off him, kicking up a small cloud of dust.
The shoe thrower managed to hit him. Most of his supporters condemned the incident.
