The first national convention of the Justice and Unity Party (JSP) officially opened in Mogadishu, marking a significant step in Somalia’s evolving political landscape. During the conference, the party’s constitution was ratified, and new leadership was elected to steer the organization forward.
The convention overwhelmingly elected H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the current President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as the Chairman of the JSP and its official Presidential Candidate for the upcoming national elections.
Additionally, the convention appointed members to the party’s Executive Committee, composed of influential national figures, many of whom are already playing key roles in Somalia’s government and development:
