Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Gaza in what it described as a response to a breach of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Hamas of attacking Israeli troops in Gaza on Tuesday and of violating the terms concerning the return of the bodies of deceased hostages.
Hamas denied any involvement in the alleged attack and reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
According to Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense and hospital officials, at least 33 Palestinians were killed in the strikes, which hit homes, schools, and residential areas across Gaza City, Beit Lahia, al-Bureij, Nuseirat, and Khan Younis.
