Intense fighting that lasted for many hours has been ongoing since this morning in the Xabley Mountains in the Ufayn district of the Bari region, between Puntland forces and ISIS militants.
The fighting took place in the Dhaban-qooxle area of the Xabley Mountains, after a group of ISIS militants attacked a military base held by Puntland forces in Dhaban-qooxle.
Puntland defense forces, who were on high alert, repelled the attack from the ISIS group, and it was reported that fighters from the group were killed in the fighting, and it is still reported that the fighting is ongoing.
At least one soldier from the Puntland defense forces was also killed in the ongoing fighting, while up to 6 other soldiers were injured, some of whom have minor injuries, according to reports
