Some reports are emerging about airstrikes carried out in the Basra area, a strategic area between the Balcad and Afgooye districts in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions.
Local sources told us that they heard the sound of heavy shelling, which fell deep inside the Basra area.
Reports indicate that some airstrikes have hit Al-Shabaab bases in the area, although the number of casualties has not been officially confirmed.
There has also been no official statement from the Somali government or the United States about airstrikes in Middle Shabelle.
