Mogadishu – New information has emerged regarding the suicide bombing that occurred this morning at the Dhamanyo military center located in Mogadishu’s Hodan district. The blast targeted a group of young men who had gathered to register for recruitment into the Somali National Army.

According to sources, the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who detonated himself among the crowd of recruits. The explosion happened during a busy time, causing panic and chaos at the scene. Thick smoke and the sound of a powerful blast were reported shortly after the attack.

Preliminary casualty reports confirm that at least 15 people were killed, and 9 others were injured, some critically. The victims include both the aspiring recruits and nearby civilians who happened to be at the scene when the explosion occurred. The wounded were rushed to various hospitals across Mogadishu for treatment.

Although no group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack, it is widely believed to be the work of extremist elements seeking to disrupt national security efforts. The bombing is seen as a direct attack on the hopes of young Somalis aiming to serve their country.
