A heartbreaking tragedy struck the city of Hargeisa recently after a father allegedly set fire to his home, killing four of his children, according to officials from the Somaliland Fire and Rescue Service.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man started the fire following an ongoing domestic dispute between him and his wife. Authorities reported that the victims were three boys and one girl, all under the age of ten. Another young girl narrowly escaped the blaze with her life.
Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and worked to extinguish the flames, but unfortunately, the children could not be saved. Their bodies were later recovered from the burned remains of the house.
Police confirmed that the suspect, believed to be the father of the children, has been arrested and is currently in custody. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and motive behind the horrific incident.
