Last night Eritrean military forces, carried heavy attacks in the Bure area, located on the border between Eritrea and the Afar region in northern Ethiopia, and approximately 80 km from the important Red Sea port of Assab.

The Bure area which is a training ground for groups opposed to the Asmara government, which are said to be supported by Ethiopia, claimed some of Eritrean officials.

It is fear that this could be the start of a wider military confrontation between the two countries, which already have a long history of war, as Ethiopia is feared to start the war.

Reports indicate that , Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt and Tigray Front have been secretly discussing military cooperation against Ethiopia, which could lead to a major shift in the security landscape of East Africa.

If this war breaks out, it will effect Trade in ports , the displacement of refuges from neighboring countries and a diplomatic crisis affecting relations between Ethiopia and Egypt, which are already at odds over the Nile River.
