Egypt Halts Entry of Somali Passport Holders Without Visa Sticker

Cairo, Egypt — Egyptian authorities have suspended the entry of Somali passport holders into Egypt, including Cairo, unless travelers possess a visa sticker physically affixed inside their passports.
According to industry sources, the government in Cairo has issued official email notifications to airlines operating flights from Somalia, warning carriers not to board passengers who do not hold the required visa sticker. The reason behind the new restriction specifically targeting Somali passport holders has not been officially disclosed.
Somali authorities have not been formally informed of the decision. As a result, many Somali travelers who already hold tickets for today, tomorrow, and the coming days are facing unexpected travel disruptions and significant financial losses.
Airlines have reportedly begun enforcing the directive, leaving affected passengers stranded despite having valid tickets, as the absence of a visa sticker now results in denied boarding.
The sudden move has raised concerns among travelers and travel agencies, who are calling for urgent clarification from both Egyptian and Somali authorities to prevent further losses and confusion.
