Discussion happened between the President of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and the President of Jubbaland Ahmed Madobe, which took place last night at Villa Somalia.
The meeting was to convince Ahmed Madobe, who rejected a decision related to the election, which was agreed by other leaders participating in the meeting of the National Consultative Council, which is still ongoing in Mogadishu.
Reports says leaders of Galmudug, South West and Hir Shabelle governments together with the centeral leaders have agreed the country should be directed to elections by people and votes which Ahmed Madobe rejected.
Ahmed Madobe is determined to hold his own election through the regional parliamentarians’ process .
Also President Hassan and PM Hamse tried to convince him privately but it was confirmed that he once again insisted that he will hold the indirect election in Jubbaland.
Although the general meeting of the NCC did not directly fail, it is evident that the Federal Government is putting a lot of effort into persuading Ahmed Madobe.
