More than 60 million Americans are facing severe conditions after a heavy storm of snow and fog hit parts of the country. Most of Canada and 30 states in the United States from Kansas to the East Coast. There is a weather warning in place, according to the US National Weather Service.
This storm is also expected to reach the city of Washington. A state of emergency has been declared in the states of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri.
Even parts of Florida that are not known for extreme cold are expected to experience snowy conditions.
Some parts of New York City are reported to be foggy with snow. On the other hand, the House of Congress is expected to approve the victory of Donald Trump three months ago in the presidential election of the United States.
It is clear that the severe weather may delay the return of some MPs who are in their constituencies to the capital.
