After many hours, a fire that broke out in the second largest market in Mogadishu, Bacaad market , located in the Yaaqshiid district, was successfully extinguished.
A young girl was reported to have died in the fire. The fire also destroyed large parts of the market.
Ibrahim Muse, one of the traders in Bacaad market , told the media that three shops and other shops belonging to his mother were burned down, which shows the extent of the losses suffered by the family.
The fire, which lasted for many hours, started around 5 pm yesterday, and easily spread to other parts of the market.
Firefighters tried to stop the fire so that it did not spread to different parts of Bacaad market due to the wind. They combined their efforts to extinguish it and finally succeeded.
The members committee consisting of traders from the Bacaad market is set to be appointed to assess the damage to the property that was burned in the market.
