A technical committee preparing the Conference of the Commanders of the Forces of the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Somalia has opened a preliminary meeting in Mogadishu.
This technical committee is organizing a conference on the transition plan of Operation ATMIS which will be held in the coming days in Mogadishu, which will be attended by the commanders of the forces of the African Union Security Mission in Somalia.
Reports say that the meeting will discuss the transition plan of the ATMIS mission that ends on December 31, 2024, which will be replaced by the new AUSSOM mission that will begin in early January of the new year 2025.
