Candidate Abdirashid Yusuf Jabriil (Abwan) elected as Vice President of North-Eastern Somalia.
The vice-presidential elections for the Northeastern Somali region has been won by Abdirashid Yusuf Jabriil (Abwan) , according to chairman Aden Abdullahi Aw-Xassan, who announced the results.
Mr Abdirashid Yusuf Jabriil (Abwan) received 65 votes after he was elected by a show of hands after the other four candidates were absent.
He previously served as the speaker of the Puntland parliament, and he was part of the construction of the North-Eastern Somali administration in recent months.
