Canada on Monday expelled six diplomats, including a high-ranking official, who were linked to the killing of a leader of the Singa separatist group in India who was arrested in Canada.
In a statement issued by the office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, it was said that his government has “clear and strong evidence showing that representatives of the Indian government have been and are still carrying out activities that pose a great threat to public safety.”
Earlier yesterday, India responding to Canada’s action, and in retaliation, it has ordered the expulsion of six Canadian diplomats, including a high-ranking officer and also summoned its ambassador to Canada.
Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced last year that his government has evidence showing that Indian intelligence officials were behind the killing of Canadian leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar which lead to diplomatic dispute between these two countries to get worse.
However, the Indian government has denied Canada’s allegations and accused Prime Minister Trudeau of being a man with political agendas in India.
