US President Joe Biden met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House on Friday, where the two leaders discussed their support for Ukraine and Israel and the security of the Indo-Pacific region.
Biden told Starmer that the United States is committed to supporting Britain in supporting Ukraine to defend itself against Russian aggression. Biden added that “it is clear that Putin will not win this war”.
This meeting comes at a time when the Western allies are thinking about how to change their policy on supporting Ukraine, and they want Ukraine to allow it to use the long-range missiles donated to the United States and Britain in its war with Russia.
The leaders also discussed the prospect of a ceasefire in the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, in order to release the hostages and achieve an immediate ceasefire, which Biden said humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza.
Friday’s meeting was the second face-to-face meeting between Biden and Starmer since the new prime minister took office in July.
