Liverpool 28 years old striker Diogo Jota has died in a car crash near the northwestern city of Zamora, Spanish state TV reported, citing a local fire department.
Diogo Jota’s brother André Silva, 25-year-old Penafiel player in Portuguese 2nd League, has also passed away following the accident.
Their vehicle reportedly caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames, leaving nothing behind.
The tragic news comes just two weeks after Jota married his long-term girlfriend Rute Cardoso, also they had three children together
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolverhampton in 2020 for a fee of 44.7 million euros.
