In a statement issued by the ATMIS forces operating in Somalia, they said that they have been informed of allegations made against them, which are related to their involvement in a strong dispute based on the Jubbaland elections in the city of Kismayo.
ATMIS said in its news: “ATMIS underlines its neutrality and impartiality in the electoral systems of Somalia, including the controversial one in Jubbaland.”
There is a controversy in Kismayo city regarding the Jubbaland presidential election, with the opposition opposing the election process being conducted by a committee appointed by the Jubbaland administration that is currently in power.
The Somali government is also against the way things are going.
Yesterday, a part of the opposition announced “that they have elected a president”.
On the other hand, there was a confrontation between the bodyguards of one of the candidates in Kismayo and the Jubbaland police forces, and one of the bodyguards of the candidate was killed.
