ATMIS forces in the Lower Shabelle region have carried out a strong operation on the road connecting Mogadishu, Buffow to Barawe district to ensure the security of the movement of people & goods.
During the operation, the forces removed several landmines planted by Al-Shabaab on the roads passing through Buulnaag, Muuri & Busley, to target the ATMIS convoy.
ATMIS officers in Lower Shabelle region have not yet given any details about the operation whether they have arrested people or not but they said that their purpose was to secure the security of the areas where the operation was carried out in Lower Shabelle region.
The forces of the African Union ATMIS operation in the Lower Shabelle region, especially those in Uganda, sometimes carry out strong operations, as they face attack from Al Shabab.
