As confirmed by the Ministry of Health of Lebanon, at least 40 people were killed in an airstrike by Israeli forces on Wednesday in the town of Baclabak in the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon.
In other aerial attacks, the ministry said that Israel hit the southern area of the capital city of Beirut yesterday.
The governor of the eastern province of Baclabak-Hermel, Bashir Khodri, said in a statement that at least 40 shells were fired by Israeli forces, killing 38 people and injuring 54 others. He said that the rescue operations to search for the missing people are still going on.
In a recorded speech that was broadcast on television, the new leader of Hezbollah Nacim Qasim warned that his fighters will fight Israel until it accepts peace.He said that there could be indirect talks if Israel stops the attack.
Since the start of the 13-month war between Israel and Hezbollah, more than 3,000 people have been killed in Lebanon, most of them since September.
