United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken will start his last visit to a foreign country before the end of his term in office on January 20.
Blinken will go to South Korea, Japan and France. A news release from the US Department of State said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with the heads of these countries in Seoul, Tokyo and Paris starting this Sunday.
South Korea is currently in political turmoil as a result of the impeachment of former president Yoon Suk Yeol. While in Japan, Bilinken’s trip will focus on strengthening relations between Washington and Tokyo.
Blinken will end his last trip in Paris, where he is expected to discuss with French leaders the latest developments in the Middle East crisis, and European security, especially the situation in Ukraine.
