Reports from Balad Hawo district in Gedo region indicate that heavy fighting is ongoing which started last week and resumed yesterday at the outskirts of the district, particularly at the Somali Federal Government forces camp known as the “UK camp.”
Also the communication system have been cut off incuding Hormud , Somtel and also Safaricom of the neighbouring country which they have been using since the cutoff of the country’s telecommunications.
The residence of Baled Hawa have fled the area heading to the boardering towns such Mandera.
The clash comes at a time when tensions are still high over the ongoing fighting between Ethiopian and Somali government forces in Dolow, reflecting the general insecurity situation along the Somali-Ethiopia/Kenya border.
