Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to attend a summit in Baghdad, Iraq, following an official invitation from the Iraqi president, which was delivered to the Iraqi Minister of Interior who arrived in Mogadishu a few days ago on an official visit and met with the Somali President in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the Iraqi Minister conveyed to the Somali President an official invitation from the Iraqi President to attend the Arab League summit scheduled to open in Baghdad on May 17, 2025.
This invitation highlights the importance of diplomatic and cooperative relations between Somalia and Arab countries, with the Baghdad conference expected to focus on security, economic issues, and the development of relations between member states of the Arab League.
The Baghdad conference is expected to be a great opportunity for Somalia to make its voice heard on important regional issues and to strengthen its cooperation with its brotherly Arab countries.
