The African Union has said it is stepping up its support for Somalia and it will continue to make the necessary efforts to achieve the new AUSSOM mission’s goal by July 2025.
The African Union Chairperson, Mahmoud Ali, speaking in Mogadishu, said there were economic challenges, but they were ready and committed to bringing peace to Somalia.
Meanwhile, the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, said that Somalia had been sacrificed with the blood and lives of many Africans and that it was important for Somalia to stand on its own feet.
He also thanked the African Union for its support to Somalia.
