President Hassan Sheikh has traveled to the United Arab Emirates, amid heavy fighting in some regions of the country.
Several cabinet ministers and other members are accompanying the president on this trip, which has been kept secret from the media.
President Hassan is expected to hold private meetings with the UAE leadership to discuss support for the fight against Al-Shabaab and the preservation of the country’s unity.
This is his first trip to Abu Dhabi after the world summit hosted by the UAE and hosted by the Somaliland President, which Somali government described as a violation of nationalism.
