Millions of Sri Lankans went to the polls on Saturday morning to elect a new president.
More than 17 million of Sri Lanka’s 22 million people have registered to vote.
They will distinguish between the three candidates who are contesting the election, namely incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe and opposition leader Sajith Premadasa as well as Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
