The Somali Coast Guard and the SANTA MARIA F-81 warship of the European Union’s Atlantic mission have jointly carried out a serious operation at sea today, as announced by the Police Command.
The purpose of this mission is training to enhance the implementation of the law of the sea and the development of the ability to protect the laws of the sea, and it took place in the water.
Pictures released by the police command show speedboats and airplanes flying over the coast of Somalia.
A statement issued by the police said that the coast guard is now ready to prevent emergency situations and illegal fishing wars in Somali waters.
It was also added that “three operational boats and a helicopter were carried out in this training, which also enhanced the skills of Somali police officers”.
Somalia is currently making a strong effort to protect its waters and to employ the newly trained navy for the central government.
