The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is expected to leave for Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, in the afternoon.
According to our information, the president has received an official invitation from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, who will hold critical talks in the capital city of Addis Ababa.
President Hassan is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in which they will discuss the implementation of the Ankara agreement and the shaping of the role of Ethiopia’s participation in the new peacekeeping mission in Somalia.
The information also reports that the main purpose is to continue the dialogue between the two governments, in order to complete the Ankara agreement.
The news adds that it is possible for the two governments to sign a new agreement on the sea, as Somalia has already agreed to give Ethiopia a waterway, dealing directly with the central government.
Last year , February was his last visit to Addis-Ababa, when there was an attempt to stop him from attending the African Union summit, when Ethiopian troops tried to block the president from the hotel where he was staying.
President Hassan later followed the vehicles escorting the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, and at that time, new tension arose from the naval agreement between Abiy and Muse Bihi Abdi.
It is not known what will come out of the talks between Hassan and Abiye, as the relationship between President Hassan and the Kenyan government is also not good.
